A Vineyard’s Story

The Brady family vineyard is the family’s dream, come to realization.

Native lupines found on the vineyard property are reminiscent of the fields of bluebonnets that greet the spring in the Brady family's native Texas. These vibrant wildflowers, with their delicate petals and rich hues of purple, violet, and blue, add a touch of natural beauty and nostalgia to the picturesque surroundings of Brady Vineyard. Standing tall amidst the rolling green hills and vine-laden slopes, the lupines create a stunning contrast against the golden vines and azure skies. As the gentle breeze sweeps through the vineyard, the sweet scent of these wildflowers fills the air, creating a sensory symphony that perfectly complements the taste and aroma of the award-winning wines produced on the estate. The lupines are not only a treat for the eyes and nose but also attract a myriad of pollinators, including bees and butterflies, contributing to the biodiversity and sustainability of the vineyard's ecosystem. Observing these lupines in full bloom, it is easy to understand why they have become a beloved emblem of the Brady’s winemaking legacy, reminding him of his roots and the natural wonders that inspire his craft.

A Place for World-class viticulture…

Located in the Estrella Valley, this vineyard benefits from its strategic position. It is just far enough inland from the Pacific Ocean to experience the daily warming of the sun's rays, which promotes optimal grape ripening. However, it is also close enough to benefit from the refreshing coolness of maritime breezes that sweep in during the evenings, providing relief to both the land and the vines.
Established in 2001, Brady Vineyard has since evolved into a 24-acre site perfectly suited for world-class viticulture. The vines are firmly rooted in the gravelly soils that stretch across the vineyard, forming a rolling alluvial terrace that overlooks the serene Estrella River.

Unparalleled Richness and Depth

To ensure the vines thrive in these arid conditions, careful planning and planting techniques have been employed. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petite Sirah vines have been meticulously planted at a density of 908 vines per acre. These vines have been expertly grafted onto rootstock that possesses a remarkable ability to seek out the limited available water and nutrients present in the naturally sparse ground. Due to the inherent challenges of this site, yields are purposefully limited to a mere 4 tons per acre. While seemingly meager, this restriction actually enhances the grapes' intensity and concentration, resulting in wines of unparalleled richness and depth.

The Essence of the Vineyard's unique Terroir

In the hands of Brady Vineyard's skilled winemaker, renowned for his artistry and attention to detail, these fully-ripened grapes are delicately nurtured and thoughtfully transformed into a symphony of bold and expressive Paso Robles red wines. Each cluster, meticulously picked at the peak of perfection, carries with it the essence of the vineyard's unique terroir and centuries-old roots that delve deep into the rich soil. The meticulous planting techniques, combined with the winemakers' expertise, coax the grapes to reveal their full potential, resulting in exceptional wines that captivate the senses and transport you to the sun-soaked vineyards. Every sip encapsulates the passion and dedication of the Brady Vineyard team, ensuring that their wines embody the true spirit of this remarkable and breathtaking vineyard.

Great Wines come from a Great Place.

When the Brady family first set eyes on the 24-acre site in 2006, they knew that this would be the land that would cultivate the dream. Their wines are the result of years of perseverance, patience and experimentation with the land. Finely crafted, with the intention to capture the “sense of place” that is Paso Robles.

Extraordinary Wines are the product of Exceptional Vineyards.

The composition of a vineyard is undeniably crucial in the pursuit of crafting exceptional wines. It is a harmonious blend of the land, soil, rootstock, clonal selection, climate, and the meticulous touch of human hands that sets the stage for greatness. At Brady Vineyard, we understand the significance of these elements, which is why we are dedicated to seeking out specific terroirs perfectly suited for the production of our remarkable Zinfandel, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Moreover, our commitment to fostering partnerships with small, local growers has become a cornerstone of our philosophy.
