Zinfandel Parings : À La Carte
Our Zinfandel is rich and luxurious. When selecting foods to pair seamlessly it is important to choose foods that will compliment our Zinfandel, not overpower or underwhelm it. We have put together a simple “À La Carte” menu to spotlight some of our favorite pairings.
Cheese
Semi-hard to hard, aged cow’s & sheep’s milk cheeses with extended age—Pair with cheeses that are just as bold and assertive as our Zinfandel. The bright berry bramble flavors in our wine pair perfectly with cheeses that have a touch of sweet saltiness and nutty flavor. These cheeses have sharp finishes that combine nicely on the palate with the peppery notes of our well-balanced Zinfandel.
What you should try: Aged Asiago, Roomano, Parmigiano Reggiano, Malvarosa, Smoked Gouda, and Ricotta Salata are great cheeses to pair with our Zinfandel.
Meat
Red-fatty, seasoned, marbled meats —The more rich and fatty the meat the better. Our Zinfandel has substantial tannin and acidity; which will cut through the fatty coating that these heavy meats leave behind on the palate. These meats prepared with sweet, savory and spicy flavors go well with our Zinfandel because the taste profiles meet in the middle.
What you should try: Roast Beef, Beef Stroganoff, Braised Short Ribs, Brisket, Skirt Steak, Shepards Pie, Roasted-Bone-In-Leg-Of-Lamb, Lamb or Beef Burgers are all great cuts to pair with our Zinfandel.
